I never know how to start a new blog…

…so this one is going to start with a list of links to blogs about arts, culture, and amazingly interesting things on the internet.

BLDGBLOG is about architectural conjecture, urban speculation and landscape futures. The other muses about interesting things in our manufactured landscapes. Sometimes it’s historical, sometimes it’s cells trapped in pyramids.

Related to BLDGBLOG is Edible Geography. This delicious blogmuses on our relationship to our physical surroundings. It’s a rare posting blog, so a good one for your RSS feed.

Kottke.org is one of the oldest blogs on the internet. This blog deals with the internet and culture. I have long been a fan.

Laughing Squid is a long running blog on arts, tech and culture. This blog is one of those amazing places that links both cultures seamlessly.

Creative Application Network explores the convergence of art, science and technology. It is also a beautifully designed blog.

Design Observer is about design, culture and change.

The Society Pages is a grouping of blogs that tickle the fancy of any sociologically minded person. From Sociological Images that treats the visual aspects of society, to Cyborgology which chronicles our relationship with technology and our augmented reality, and more dealing with race, gender, and what it is to be a person in the world.

Brain Pickings is one of my new favourites. This amazing blog is described as such:
Brain Pickings is a human-powered discovery engine for interestingness, culling and curating cross-disciplinary curiosity-quenchers, and separating the signal from the noise to bring you things you didn’t know you were interested in until you are.
